Notes

There are a few things to note about how magic works in this game. First, there are two kinds of spells:

Normal Magic: Magic spells that only one person casts.
Combined Magic: Magic spells that are cast by two or more people (you can learn these from Chapter 4 onward).

Second, you do not learn new magic by gaining levels! You learn them instead by talking with the professors at the magic school. Some spells are learned automatically, in the normal course of the game, and some are not. There are two main ways to learn new spells:

By speaking with professors at the right point in the game.
By using two or more spells in combat that can be combined, and then speaking with Dean Steel (usually in the top floor of the School Tower). You do this by:
1. Use two or more magic spells that can be combined in battle
2. Get a message saying that those spells can be combined after battle
3. Talk with Dean Steel (multiple times) to learn the new spell
Note that only a few, but not all, combined magic spells are learned this way.

Learning

Following is a list of all spells learned in the game. These are listed in chronological order of when you can obtain them in the game. The only exception are combined magic spells which you can only learn by combining spells in battle, the details of which are listed in the following section. These magic spells and when you obtain them are also mentioned as a part of the main guide.

Combinations

Following is a list of each of the combined magic spells that you cannot learn by just talking with a professor at the right point in the game (those spells are listed in the previous section. Remember that to learn the spells listed here, you must:

Use two or more magic spells that can be combined in battle
Get a message saying that those spells can be combined after battle
Talk with Dean Steel (multiple times) to learn the new spell

There aren't any restrictions on when you can learn these, provided that you have the spells available, and Dean Steel is available in the chapter.
