Websites - Famitsuu Special on Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star (Part 2)
In October 2009, Famitsuu came out with a two-part special on Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star for the PSP. "Part 1" covered some of the familiar story and characters. "Part 2" covered the new scenes involving the Four Heroes and new villains. (They had also an earlier article in August that covered roughly the same information in their previous 3 articles.)
Famitsu "Part 2" is below.
Here are some of the highlights, or at least what's new in this special:
- - The new scene involves the Four Heroes' "Final Battle", when they were much younger, while Dyne was still Dragonmaster.
- - The "Final Battle" is against a man named "Aiferun" (official transliteration unknown), who has captured Althena and is trying to use her power to become a god.
- - Additionally, Aiferun has summoned the "Five Princes of the Black Star", five gods (or demigods) bent on destruction of the world.
- - There is at least one actual battle involved with Aiferun and the Five Princes.
- - There are bromides again, and they also increase your stats.

Script: Questions and Answers with Kei Shigema
Q: Can you tell us one memory you have of the Lunar series?
The opening animation, when the video came on the screen and the sound came through clearly. The first time I saw that, I felt as if a blue breeze had just blown through the development room. We had stretched the story out to its limits; the story of Alex and Luna had to be realized just perfectly! So I thought. |
Q: What scene moves you the most?
Luna's song. For that matter, compare the two scenes with (vocal) songs. Each one may have a completely different type of song, but they comem from within the heart of one girl. For that scene in particular [Wind's Nocturne / Luna's boat song], the amazing animation is able to revitalize the power of the song itself. |
Q: What kind of story is in the new scenes?
I had imagined that the Four Heroes had done many, many things when they were younger... Dyne showing up Ghaleon, arguments between Mel and Lemia, that sort of thing. Those are the kind of scenes that could tie into Alex's story. So now, you can get a sense of those old tales of adventure. I think you will enjoy it. |
Q: What is one part of the script you are very particular about?
That a boy saves a girl from evil, and, while he's at it, saves the world. I didn't decide the entire development of the story; I believed in its power, and let the characters and storyline flow from there. That is the main thing I kept in mind while writing, and that's all I wrote (smile). |
Q: What would you like to say to fans of "Lunar"?
All the staff [of Studio Alex/Game Arts] is very moved that their work is beloved by many across generations. We are truly happy that our work has entered the hearts of so many. It's great that the world of "Lunar" now has another chance to spread further. |
