Silver Star Harmony - Magazines - Otonafami on Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star
Late June, Japanese magazine Otonafami published an article on Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star for the PSP. There isn't much additional information that isn't already mentioned by Famitsu's two articles (available here and here). But, it's interesting enough to warrant another set of scans and translations. Here's the article itself:
And here's the translation:

The masterpiece RPG "Lunar: The Silver Star" was released in 1992 on the Sega CD, and ported to several consoles thereafter. Lunar, with its epic story set in a mysterious and magical world, its high-quality anime scenes, the greatness of the original story, and a greater, easy-to-play format, is now cmoing to the PSP! The newly reborn world of Lunar will be within your reach!
(Because he doesn't want his dream to be deferred...)
Where once we had just minor details... we now present the opening story!
The adventure is set in the world of "Lunar", from where one can see the Blue Star. The story begins in the village of Burg, birthplace of Dragonmaster Dyne, one of the four heroes who once saved the world in a time of crisis. The main character Alex looks up to Dyne and dreams of being a Dragonmaster himself. One day, Alex's friend Ramus invites him to join him on an adventure. |
The adventure begins with Ramus's request Since the White Dragon Cave, which had been sealed off until now, has just reopened, the two of them will go to the cave to retrieve the treasure of the "Dragon Diamond" within. Alex's companion Nall and his childhood friend Luna join them. |
What is the "Lunar" series? The story is the work of Kei Shigema, famous for [the manga series] "Silent Mobius". The animation is recognizable anywhere. The soundtrack is the work of Noriyuki Iwadare, famous for the "Langrisser" series. Plus, the sequel "Lunar: Eternal Blue" has also gained much fame. |
(Check this out! - Field) The graphics have been updated, while still retaining the warmth of the original! |
Topic 1: New scenes, expanding more upon the mystery of the world of Lunar Many things have been left as a mystery regarding the great people of Lunar, such as the story of the Four Heroes. The story of the Four Heroes who once saved the world will now be made clear as the story of Alex's adventure unfolds! |
More beautiful, digitally remastered animation!
The Lunar series is also known for its quality animation. The challenge was to update the scenes from the first game, "Lunar: The Silver Star" from a 2D to 3D CG format. Now in "Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star", the animated parts have all been remastered. Given the PSP's capabilities, look forward to the new level of detail. The two screenshots to the right are directly from the opening scenes, as the two main characters practice their song for the upcoming festival. Alex plays his ocarina, and Luna asks him what is weighing on his mind. |

(Relive all those memories)
Onto the Cave Although they reach the White Dragon Cave, a block of ice at the entrance prevents them from going further. Just then, Nall remembers a "Flame Ring" that Alex's father once received. |
Crawling with Enemies Many monsters roam about inside the cave. If you touch them, then battle begins. You can progress through the cave as you avoid them. Of course, you can raise your levels by actively engaging in combat. |
(Check this out! - Battle) The ranged combat battle system follows after the original Lunar. But the graphics and special attack effects have gotten a power up! |
Topic 2: Pre-Order Bonus Soundtrack The pre-order bonus is a soundtrack CD! Iwadare, the lead composer for the game, has arranged all the songs for the PSP version. There were so many songs that he wanted to record that the CD includes bonus tracks. |
Encountering the dormant White Dragon at the back of the cave |
The White Dragon Quark [Fidy in the Japanese version] greets the party. But to obtain the "Dragon Diamond", he says that they must first undergo a trial. And the door to adventure OPENS! |
Dynamic battle! |
Beautiful movies inserted into every scene! |
Before the adventure, new encounters await
After Alex and his friends return from the White Dragon Cave, they decide to leave their home island and cross over to the continent. On the way they will encounter new party members. One of Lunar's strong points is its character design. And the one behind the original character design is Toshiyuki Kubooka, famous for "Nadia, The Secret of Blue Water".
