LOCATION: TOWN OF IEN

The girls are talking in the Dormitory. They say that Wing should be up by now. He's sharing Ant's room, so Ant is probably giving him a hard time, since Wing is so passive.

ELLIE: Lena, you're always giving others a hard time, but you're worried about Wing? I see...

LENA: What... what are you saying, Ellie!?

They decide to go downstairs and check on Wing.

Go downstairs to the first floor of the Dormitory.

Layla is there, waiting for Lena. She says that from now on, she'll be living in the School Tower; she just thought she'd let Lena know that little fact. Lena tells herself it's just a bad dream to forget about Layla's (presumably good) fortune more quickly.

Go to the southeast room of the first floor of the Dormitory, and approach the bed on which Wing is laying.

Lena tries to wake Wing up. Wing calls out Lena's name, but he's still asleep...

CINEMA

Wing is "dreaming" of Lena.

LENA: Wing... I love you...

WING: L... Lena...

Lena yells again at Wing for him to get up. He jumps out of bed and greets them--blushing. Anyway, it's time for them to get to business. Wing joins the party. Just then, Prof Richter runs into the Dormitory.

Go up to the second floor of the Dormitory, and go to the southeast room. Talk with Prof Richter.

Prof Richter says that he's returned Ien back to normal; the destroyed buildings are back up. Lena asks if Prof Richter rebuilt everything using construction magic; Richter (sensing the implicit question to follow) apologizes and says he doesn't take on students.

MAGIC (OPTIONAL)| On the second floor of the Dormitory, talk to Prof Richter several times. He teaches Wing the Next World spell.

MAGIC

Wing - Next World| Makes one enemy disappear

Go down to the first floor and exit the Dormitory.

The three of them see that everything in Ien is back to normal, and so quickly, thanks to Prof Richter's magic. They decide to take a walk around the new, revived Ien.

Then, one of Prof Kent's students runs up, saying Prof Kent has summoned them. Lena steps back, saying she was just about to get some rest; the student clarifies that Prof Kent was asking for Ellie. He wanted to give her something.

Go over to Kent's Lab.

Blade is there, waiting for you. He says that Prof Kent has also called him there on account of some new invention. Prof Kent then comes out and says that, thanks to your help in recovering Prof Richter, he's been able to create something that will allow Ellie even more range in her flight. It's a special set of magic-imbued clothing, and if she presses the yellow button while in flight...

CINEMA

Ellie takes the clothes to try them out.

LENA: Hold on, Ellie!

ELLIE: What is it?

LENA: Um, nothing! Just hurry up and change!

ELLIE: All right. Let's try this out!

(while seeing her in flight)

LENA: Ellie!

WING: The Stargazing Tower!

BLADE: What is she doing?

MAGIC (AUTOMATIC)| After Ellie lands, she learns the Sonic Wave spell from Prof Kent.

MAGIC

Ellie - Sonic Wave| High-speed attack through the air

After Ellie lands, Blade points out that she wrecked the Stargazing Tower. She didn't notice while she was in flight, however. Prof Kent explains that the shield on the suit is magically-enhanced to protect her while in flight. Anyway, it seems that they'll need to go to Prof Hyde's Observatory--in the Stargazing Tower--to fix this problem. Prof Kent explains that Hyde isn't the sort to be content with just an apology. Prof Kent admits that this is as much his fault; he will go ahead to the tower himself. Meanwhile, he asks that you speak with Prof Richter to see if he can offer any assistance in repairing the tower. So, Lena and Ellie decide to speak with Prof Richter first, and then go to the Stargazing Tower to see Prof Hyde and apologize in person. Blade joins you.

OPTIONAL| Go to the School Tower and talk with Layla on the first floor.

Layla tells Lena that she should feel free to ask her anything. She'll always help her out. Lena runs off and calls out for Senia's help; although, as Ellie points out, Senia isn't around to help her. They catch up to Lena; Ellie asks why she has a problem, now that Layla wants to be friends. Lena says that she still feels uneasy around her, and would rather not come back into the School Tower again.

If you try to approach her again, Lena runs out. (If you re-enter, you can still walk around inside the School Tower, so don't worry.)

OPTIONAL| Go up to the second floor of the School Tower and take a look at the Forbidden Door again.

It's closed once more. Lena sweetly asks if Wing can re-open it. He's about to, when Ellie steps in to stop him.

ASIDE: LEARNING COMBINED MAGIC

COMBINED MAGIC| Before going to the Dormitory to speak with Profs Richter and Kent, now is a good time to pick up some combined magic spells by combining spells in combat (on the field between the Port and Ien is good, as the enemies are weak and good target practice). Remember that you have to:
(1) Use two or more magic spells that can be combined in battle
(2) Get a message saying that those spells can be combined after battle
(3) Talk with Dean Steel (multiple times) to learn the new spell.

MAGIC (OPTIONAL)| In a single battle, use: (Blade) Heat Up + (Wing) Next World. Enter Ien and talk to Dean Steel in the School Tower multiple times, and he'll teach Blade+Wing the Black Hole spell.

MAGIC

Blade+Wing - Black Hole| Split attack to make all enemies disappear

LOCATION: TOWN OF IEN

Go to the Dormitory, up to the second floor, and to the southeast room where Prof Richter is.

Ellie asks Prof Richter for his help, on behalf of her and Prof Kent. She says she's damaged the Stargazing Tower, and Lena clarifies that it was really Prof Kent's invention that damaged it.

Prof Richter agrees to go; he should go to make sure that it's rebuilt properly. Since Prof Kent has gone ahead, Prof Richter says that he will hurry on to the Stargazing Tower. He asks that you all come along later.

MAGIC (AUTOMATIC)| Prof Richter also teaches Lena+Wing the Ice Fantasy spell.

MAGIC

Lena+Wing - Ice Fantasy| Strong attack of ice

Exit Ien by the east, and catch up with Profs Kent and Richter.

DIRECTIONS

From Ien, go directly east.

LOCATION: OUTSIDE (NEAR STARGAZING TOWER)

You find Profs Kent and Richter arguing.

KENT: Oh, construction-fool, I see you came.

RICHTER: What's that!? You're the fool, building nothing but junk! If I'm a construction-fool, then you're an invention-fool!

Lena interjects. Richter says that they weren't arguing; they're really old friends (doesn't much look like it...). Anyway, it's now time to enter the tower--but, as Ellie points out, the bridge to get there is broken.

RICHTER: Leave that to me!

Prof Richter creates a cave entrance. Both he and Prof Kent enter. Ellie suggests that they all follow.

LOCATION: RICHTER'S CAVE

In Richter's Cave, continue until you find Profs Kent and Richter again, in front of the exit.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the entrance, go south and southeast. At the split, take the southwest path. Follow this path south, then all the way east until you find Profs Kent and Richter.

Kent and Richter are arguing again. Richter tells Kent to hurry up and go on ahead.

OPTIONAL| If you talk to Prof Richter, he says that he's tired and will rest here for a bit.

Go a bit east and take the stairs up, into the Stargazing Tower.

LOCATION: STARGAZING TOWER

Go up the Stargazing Tower. For the first five floors, you only need to go back and forth up the steps.

On the way up, Lena complains that she's tired. Wing tries to encourage her to press on. Ellie pulls him aside to have a word. She tells him that if he wants to talk to Lena, he can't be so shy and reserved.

Continue through the Stargazing Tower to Hyde's Observatory. For the next two floors, you only need to go back and forth up the steps. On the eighth and last floor, go east and take the path all the way north.

You find Prof Kent apologizing to Prof Hyde.

HYDE: I don't care about the building! The problem is the Star Device! All the work I have done is now nothing but sea foam!!

KENT: I'm sorry... Prof Richter will be coming here shortly to fix it.

HYDE: I don't need his help. Go back. The Star Device is not something that one uses for just a day and a night.

Kent relents and goes back. He stops by to speak with the girls. He doesn't know how he or Richter can help, here. He asks Ellie still to speak with Hyde.

Ellie apologizes to Prof Hyde; he just nods. Lena wants to go back, but Ellie won't until they set things right. Then, Prof Richter comes in. He sees that the Star Device is broken, and decides that there's no choice but to get to work reparing it. He then asks for the girls' help: in the cave beneath this tower, there are star crystals that they should retrieve. If they have those crystals, then the damage to the Stargazing Tower should be easy to fix.

OPTIONAL| Although there are no enemies in this room, you can still walk around and regain your HP/MP.

Talk to Prof Richter and he will transport you down to the cave, so you don't have to climb back down the stairs.

LOCATION: RICHTER'S CAVE

In Richter's Cave, get the star crystal.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the stairs, go a little bit west then immediately north. From there, go east, then north, and at the split, take the path going west. Keep going west and take the very next path north. Follow this path north, then northeast, then west. Take the next path going south. Follow this path as it goes south, then west, then curves around to lead to the stairs down.

B2: From the stairs, go south and a little east. Take the first path you see continuing south. At the split, take the path going southeast. Follow this south, then southwest (ignore the path that leads east and continue southwest all the way). Then, follow the path all the way east, and take the very last (third) path going north. Keep going north and take the first path west. Continue west and take the very next path going north. Keep going north until you enter the room with the crystal.

Wing confirms that this crystal is emanating great magic power. He and Blade work together to remove it. The first time, their timing is a bit off. The second time, it works, though not as well as Blade had hoped for. They pick up the crystal.

After getting the crystal, exit the cave for the Stargazing Tower.

DIRECTIONS

B2: From the crystal, go south. At the split, turn east. At the next split, turn south and keep going all the way to the end. Then, follow the path west and keep going west all the way to the end. Take the last (third) path going north. Follow the path north and a little northeast (ignore the path that leads directly east and continue going northeast). At the next split, go directly northwest. Follow this path a little north, then go west and north to the stairs up.

B1: From the stairs, go east then southeast, and follow the path as it continues east, then north. At the split, go west. Follow this path as it goes west, then south all the way. At the next split, go east. At the next split, go south. Follow this path as it goes south, then west, and take the first path going south again. From there, at the next split, go east to the stairs up.

LOCATION: STARGAZING TOWER

Go up the Stargazing Tower to Hyde's Observatory again. For the next seven floors, you only need to go back and forth up the steps. On the eighth and last floor, go east and take the path all the way north.

Prof Richter asks the girls to give him the star crystal. After he takes it, he repairs the damage to the tower. But, Prof Hyde is unsatisfied. He explains that these are't just decorations he's fixing; once the Star Device has lost its power, it won't return to normal. Prof Richter says that this is all that he is able to do, and leaves. Lena wants to leave, too, but Blade, Wing, and Ellie intend on staying.

Go up and speak with Prof Hyde.

Hyde says that this Star Device has been gathering power from the stars for years, and now it's lost such power. Ellie asks how they can return it to normal. Hyde figures that the only way to do that is to use a Magic Sphere that Prof Glen has. He then gives you a plate that can be used to open up Glen's basement storeroom.

HYDE: The Star Device requires immense power... But the power that it had been gathering for many years is now gone... But, there's a Magic Sphere that Prof Glen has, and that should have just enough power to restore my Star Device to normal...

Exit the Stargazing Tower. You can do this by going directly south from Prof Hyde, a little bit west to the stairs down, and the back and forth down the steps for the next seven floors, until you reach the cave again.

LOCATION: RICHTER'S CAVE

In Richter's Cave, go to the exit.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the stairs, go directly west all the way to the end. Take the last path north. At the next split, go northwest. Follow the path northwest and north to the stairs up.

Go to Glen's Island.

DIRECTIONS

From the cave, go southwest and cross the bridge across the river. Then, continue heading east. Take the next set of stairs you see north, then continue northeast and cross another bridge over to Glen's Island.

LOCATION: GLEN'S ISLAND

At Glen's Island, go into his cabin (on the east end of the area).

Once in his cabin, go to the doors in the northeast corner.

Glen isn't there right now. Wing uses the plate to open up the storeroom doors.

Enter the basement storeroom.

LOCATION: GLEN'S BASEMENT

In Glen's Basement, go to the picture of Glen and Memphis on the wall.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the entrance, go a little bit south and continue directly east until you see the picture on the wall (ignore the two paths leading south).

OPTIONAL| Approach the picture on the wall.

The picture is of Glen and someone who looks just like Memphis of the Vile Tribe.

LENA: It's Prof Glen, and the other guy looks just like Memphis from the Vile Tribe!

WING: But, he looks like an ordinary human. He does not have any markings on his face, like the Vile Tribe does.

ELLIE: Do you think perhaps that Glen found him while he was scouting for the school?

From the picture, continue through Glen's Basement until a first flashback involving Glen.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the picture, continue east and take the next path leading south. Follow this path as it goes south, then east, then south and southwest.

Wing hears a voice in his head, and then a flashback of an incident with Prof Glen. Glen is talking to someone, a young boy.

GLEN: So, they were making fun of you again.

BOY: I... I want to be stronger... stronger...

GLEN: What will you do when you are stronger? Unrestricted power will only lead to your misfortune. But, I... am not you. You must make your own decisions.

Wing explains that Glen must have stored his memories in this place.

From the first flashback, continue through Glen's Basement until you find a statue.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the flashback, go a little southwest and at the next split, go directly west. Follow the path as it goes west then southwest. Continue going west (ignore the path leading southeast), and take the path leading west. Follow this path west then south to the stairs down.

B2: From the stairs, follow the path going southwest, then west and north. At the next split, go northeast to the statue of Glen.

OPTIONAL| Approach the statue of Glen.

Wing notices there are some characters inscribed below it: "The Disastrous Artist Henner presents this to his dear friend, Glen" (NOTE: the word "tensai" means both "disaster" and "genious", but character used mean "disaster").

LENA: So is Henner his friend?

WING: Well, the last person called "disaster" Henner was an artist from 200 years ago.

[NOTE: Henner is actually a character in the original Lunar: Walking School for the Game Gear. He was an eccentric artist on the Island of the Arts, Shell, and made a statue of Ellie. An -awesome- statue.]

From the statue, continue through Glen's Basement until the second flashback involving Glen.

DIRECTIONS

B2: From the statue, go a little bit southwest, then go northwest and follow the path as it curves northeast, then east.

Ellie this time sees a flashback in her mind. Glen is talking to the same boy again.

GLEN: The Guardian of Time is the person who is able to manipulate the flow of time.

BOY: Ok. Is that why I am here?

GLEN: ...Do you understand why there is a guardian to manipulate time?

BOY: ...Professor, I'm tired of answering all these questions!

GLEN: You fool! Oh my...

From the second flashback, continue through Glen's Basement until the third flashback.

DIRECTIONS

B2: From the flashback, go east all the way. Take the last path going south, and then the very next path going southwest to the stairs down.

B3: From the stairs, go a little south, then go west. At the next split, go southwest.

The third flashback you see is of Glen at the Port of Ien, panicked.

BOY: You're too late! I will prove to you that there is only one way to wield power!!

From the third flashback, continue through Glen's Basement until you reach the bosses.

DIRECTIONS

B3: From the flashback, go south and take the next path east. At the next split, go southeast. Continue east (ignore the next path leading north) until you reach the room with the Magic Sphere.

BOSS BATTLE| Defeat the 2 Cyclopes and 2 Night Parsers.

Everyone enters the room with the Magic Sphere in it. Wing acknowledges that it has a lot of magic power in it, but wonders if it's all right to just take it like this.

LENA: Oh Blade, can you get it for us?

ELLIE: Why do you always ask Blade to do all the work?

LENA: Ok, fine, I'll take it.

After Lena grabs the Magic Sphere, everyone is transported back into Glen's cabin.

LOCATION: GLEN'S ISLAND

Exit Glen's Island by the west exit and go back to Richter's Cave, which leads to the Stargazing Tower.

DIRECTIONS

Go southeast from the island, back west along the river, north across the bridge, and northeast from there to enter the cave.

LOCATION: RICHTER'S CAVE

In Richter's Cave, go to the exit to the Stargazing Tower.

DIRECTIONS

B1: From the entrance, go south and southeast. At the split, take the southwest path. Follow this path south, then all the way east to the stairs up.

LOCATION: STARGAZING TOWER

Go up the Stargazing Tower to Hyde's Observatory again. For the next seven floors, you only need to go back and forth up the steps. On the eighth and last floor, go east and take the path all the way north.

Prof Hyde approaches you and takes the Magic Sphere.

HYDE: Yes, with this... the Star Device will finally move again.

LENA: By the way, what's this do?

HYDE: Yes... Let me show you.

CINEMA

The scene cuts to the interior of the Dark Castle, D, Memphis, and Barua.

D: Power... power... power!

MEMPHIS: D, what is happening?

BARUA: What is going on?

Back outside..

ELLIE: That's the Dark Castle D!

HYDE: The Dark Castle is no match for the Star Device's power!

Glen comes in, demanding to know what Hyde is doing.

HYDE: The Star Device is finally complete

GLEN: Just as always, you are blind to everything outside of your own work

GLEN: ! My... my precious Magic Sphere...

ELLIE: I'm so sorry!

Glen demands that Hyde return the Magic Sphere. He says it's too late; the sphere is already integrated with the Star Device. Despite Hyde's insistence that the Star Device is necessary, Blade runs in and removes the Magic Sphere by force.

ELLIE: I'm so sorry, Glen...

GLEN: Don't cry, Ellie. You all did quite well. We all know who the culprit truly is.

LENA: It... it wasn't me! I... I didn't do anything wrong...
