Chapter 12: Farewell, Our Magic Academy
Chapter 12: Farewell, Our Magic Academy

Wing, you'll go with me no matter where I'm headed, right? The days pass and before long, it's the day before Ellie and Lena's graduation, by special permission from Steel. Lena suggests that they go around to say their final farewells to everyone.

First, take the flight of stairs on the east side of the building up one floor, and go down to Wing's room to speak with him. Lena says for him to come with them, and he'll join up. You can talk with folks around the dorm, or around town. You can also leave town and head south, then east, to Glen's island to visit his grave.

Shell Island has already been attacked by the Dark Castle. When you're ready, go to the office building in the center of town. Go to the second floor, and talk with either Emma or Steel standing there. They'll say the professors are in a conference right now and ask you to come back later. Leave that floor. Lena and Wing are too curious, and go back up to listen in--Ellie follows. In the meeting, Steel begins by saying that the Dark Castle has attacked Shell, and Ien is probably next. So that they don't involve the students in this problem, Steel says that they'll need to go out and attack the Dark Castle first. Iason says that he'll be going, and requests Dadis's magic to help up his strength.

They leave the room. Wing speaks up and says that they must go and attack the Vile Tribe. This kind of confidence coming from Wing is something that Lena is surprised about. Wing adds that Glen's enemy is his enemy as well, and once Ien is at peace, he can then propose to Lena. Well then, not being quite the time, Lena says that they have to concentrate on helping the professors first.

You're complaining? Yet Memphis's spirit has become so great. Ant then rushes in and says that a large castle-like thing is approaching from the west. The scene switches to inside the Dark Castle D, where D is speaking with Barua as they approach Ien. Barua mentions that Memphis's spirit here is still strong, and cuts D off before he can say another word.

In town, the castle approaches with Barua ordering D and her servants to attack the townspeople. Steel descends from the upper floor and tells the the three of you to hurry and protect the town from the invading monsters. With that, everyone runs outside.

We'll leave the defense of town to the professors. We need to get to the Dark Castle! You can go around town to find the townspeople defending the academy. Directly south of the plaza, you'll find Henner facing off against a group of Vile Tribe, but he summons his giant Ellie statue to attack and defeat them. East of the plaza, you'll see Steel and Ralph handling another monster; they tell you to go help the others in town. West of the plaza, you'll see Ant and his friends; speak with Ant and he'll attack the monster, fall, and be bolstered back up by his friends. In the northwest corner of town, you'll see Layla and Dadis facing off against another monster, with Layla worried if her magic will suffice.

When you're ready, go to the southwest corner of town. You'll run into a battle; defeat the two Hornheads. After that, Iason-sensei will rush out and start attacking the monsters who are left, with his Manly Punch, Manly Kick, and Manly Bomber attacks. Lena says that the remaining monsters can be handled by the professors; they need to hurry to the Dark Castle. They run out and see the castle very close to town.

S... Stop. You're destroying me. Go directly northwest to the castle, and enter.

On the first floor, go directly north all the way to the door. From there, go east and the path splits into three; go a little east and take the path that continues northeast. Follow this until you reach a transporter; step on it.
From where you're transported, go east and continue until you reach the first boss: Bloom Lake. Attack it. Once it's defeated, Wing will hear a voice telling you to stop, that its body is crumbling apart. Anyway, continue north from here and follow the path all the way (there aren't any turns to the side) and you'll run into the second boss: Pix Bay. Attack it. Once it's defeated, Wing will hear another voice saying its body is crumbling. From there, continue north and keep going along the path (again, no turns to the side) and you'll eventually reach a transporter. Step on this.
From here, you'll see two staircases below you. Take either staircase and continue north from there. When you see the path branching off, continue north and keep going to reach the third boss: China Lake. Attack it. When it's defeated, there's another voice telling you to stop. From there, go north, and follow the path all the way until you reach the fourth boss: Montok (he might have a familiar face). Attack and defeat this. The voice gets louder this time. From there, continue north and follow the path until it branches off. Here, take the first path south and a little east, and pick up the Water of Protection in the chest. Go back west and take the other path east, and continue east a little to find a Water of Light in a chest. From there, go a little southeast, the continue east across and take the path that continues northeast a to find a Mystery Water in another chest. From there, continue east, go around the turn to go south, and continue a little to find a Tan rock in another chest, Continue southwest from there, and go up the stairway you see.
When you exit, you'll be in another part of the castle. Continue north from where you are, and take the middle path north (it's the only one not blocked). Walk all the way to the other end and take the stairs at the end.
On the second floor, there are six treasure chests you can get. From the entrance, go east and take the first path north. Follow the path, continue north, then when it hits a T-intersection go north. Take the last path east a few steps, turn north, and keep going to pick up a Sun Radiance in a chest. From there, go east, a little south, and take the path that breaks off east. At the T-intersection, go a little south to pick up a Tan rock. From the chest, go all the way north, ignore any paths that break off to the east, and pick up a Mystery Water in a small room. From the chest, continue north, then the path will turn east. Keep going east, ignore the 4-way intersection (continue east), and eventually you'll hit another room with another Mystery Water in it. From that chest, continue south, ignore any paths that go east, and keep going south to pick up a Life Potion in another chest. From there, go a little north, take the first path east, at the next T-intersection go north, and follow that path a little to pick up a Tan rock in another chest. Now, go west from here, a little south, continue west all the way, and at the end go all the way north (past the chests you picked up already). At the end, continue west, then at the 4-way intersection, go north, west at the T-intersection, then north, then east, and take that path north into a room with a transporter. Step onto the transporter, then from where you get transported, continue south a little bit and enter the door there.

Shut up! I... I'll stop you myself, Barua! On the top floor, go north. D and Barua will be there. Barua says the three of you stand no chance to stop her, she'll kill them here. Wing steps forward and says that he won't allow her to continue like this; Lena and Ellie say the same. Barua then attacks you herself, in her most powerful form: Barua Star.

After defeating her, the students celebrate. D, then, thanks them for defeating Barua. Barua was controlling him, but now that his master, Memphis, is gone, he has no reason to remain in this world. He says he'll return to the world of darkness. Wing then steps forward and offers to do something for the Dark Castle D, as the Guardian of Time. Whatever he does, the castle begins to shake, and before they know it they're back in town.

I'm okay. But you, Wing, I'm starting to see you in a new light. The three students are all right. Lena says that she's taken on a new opinion of Wing; Wing takes this to mean that she finally likes him in return and is rather overjoyed. Anyway, Lena says that they'd better go tell the rest of the people in town the good news about Barua's defeat and the Dark Castle leaving.

This certifies that Ellie and Lena have been accepted as new students into the Magic Academy of Vane. Leave the plaza now. Go to the office building just above you, and go up to the third floor and talk with Steel in the room on the east. The castle is gone, and Ien is safe. But before they go, Steel says that two letters from Vane have arrived for Ellie and Lena. They read them.

The letter is directly from the Premier of the Magic Guild of Vane. It's an acceptance letter for Ellie and Lena to enter the Magic Academy at Vane as new students. The day after their graduation ceremony, a ship will come to Ien to meet them and take them to Vane itself. Ellie and Lena are extremely happy, but Wing is a little disheartened.

The scene cuts to their graduation day. Steel presents Ellie and Lena with their diploma from the Magic Academy of Ien before all the professors and students, who then congratulate the two.

Wait for me in Vane! I'll come to see you once I've become a great 'Guardian of Time'! The next day, Ellie and Lena are at the docks to board the ship to Vane, surrounded by everyone. Everyone there wishes the girls the best at Vane, even Ant, and express their gratitude. Go to the pier and speak with Wing. He finally tells Lena that he loves her, and asks her to wait for him in Vane--after he becomes a great Guardian of Time, he'll go there himself. Lena smiles and says that she will wait for him. Lena and Ellie leave, and say their final good-byes. So they traveled to Vane, where a new life awaited them.

And with that, the credits roll.

Three-hundred years old, and he hasn't changed one bit. Wing is back in his room, sleeping peacefully, thinking of Lena. Suddenly, Steel and Glen appear in the hallway; Wing sees this, think's he's dreaming, and goes back to bed. Glen says that it's best that people think he's dead; and Wing's mind will be clearer to take on his new duties. Steel asks Glen if he really thinks he should go off on an adventure at this age; Glen shoots back that even though he's 300 years old, he won't waste the free time he's finally obtained. In any case, Glen asks, how much longer will Steel still be around as the dean of this academy? Glen departs.

Steel looks into Wing's room, and says that perhaps once Wing grows up, Steel will have the same kind of free time to go off on an adventure like Glen.

THE END... REALLY
