Lunar: Legend, Section 7

7.1) REZA - Beautiful Landing

Aaaahhhhh!!!!! Once you're up in the air a few uncontrollable things start to go awry. Jessica loses control of the balloon and you all come crashing down. Don't worry, the thieves in Reza make short work of lifting the balloon while leaving Alex and them behind. Once you regain consciousness, Laike comes by to poke a little fun at them after hearing that crashing noise. He then heads back in the bar and asks that you talk to the barkeep once more regarding Lily.

Can you get to the Stadius Zone? There's a village named Lyton there, where the Blue Dragon shrine should be! Go inside and talk to the barkeep. He asks if they found Lily; Mia apologizes and says, unfortunately, that Lily wasn't in the Red Dragon Cave. Nall promises, though, that they'll rescue Lily along with Luna. Talk with Laike after that and Alex will explain what went on in the cave. He thinks over it a minute then suggests that you hurry on to the next dragon. If you cross by ferry at Meryod you can enter the Stadius Zone; there there's a village named Lyton where the Blue Dragon Shrine is located. So, there's your next destination. First, however, use the Dragon Wings to transport to Saith; exit town and go to the Hag's House. Talk to the woman and she'll give you the Red Dragon - Amelia card. Also, you should have over 80000S once again; so, unless you already have two Wind Boots, transport back to Vane and buy another pair. I usually have Alex and Kyle both equipped with one each.

7.2) MERYOD - Crossing Over

Will you ride? Transport over to Meryod via the Wings and talk with the ferryman--he's the one with the tiny boat just east of the entrance to town. He asks if you want to ride and you can answer either: 1) Please, or 2) No, that's ok. Pick #1 to cross; the ferryman to cross back over Meryod is on the other side just above you. Anyway, stop into the shops here and upgrade, but I suggest just buying a Brave Sword for Kyle. Now exit Meryod to the east.

7.3) AYAKASHI FOREST - Quick Stop, Good Weapons

Dungeon Items:
[Forest] Ruby Glove, Flame Ring, 10000S
[Spring] Phoenix Claw, Magical Hat

Phoenix Claw found! Before you go to Lyton, there's a patch of woods you can go to. There are some really good items in here, but the enemies are incredibly strong. I suggest you run in and grab the stuff, then in all battles either run away or use your most powerful magic attacks--even then you should probably only fight two or three; equip the Dog Bone on someone if you're having trouble running away. Now here, go east and take the first path north and around to find a red chest with a Ruby Glove (good for Jessica). From here go southeast then east a little bit to a clearing. Head south from this clearing to come to a T-intersection. Go west to find a red chest with a Flame Ring in it. Head back a little bit north and from the clearing go all the way northeast. You'll find another chest with 10000S. Now, backtrack a little southwest then head directly east to enter the Spring. Here you can find two more red chests with a Phoenix Claw for Jessica and a Magical Hat. There's also a card dealer here like at the last spring, and, more importantly, an Althena statue; the card dealer isn't ready to trade with you at this stage in the game, though. Now, you can leave the forest.

7.4) LYTON - Does Anybody Like Real Music?

Wh.. What is that noise? Enter Lyton, the town in the upper-left corner of the map, and you'll immediately hear some of the worst background music in the game. This time, though, everyone else can hear it too and agrees--except Kyle, who tries to sing along and only makes it worse. Upgrade your armor first at the shop just in front of you; I suggest: 2 Battle Armors and 2 Battle Helms for Alex and Kyle, and a Battle Shield for Kyle. Now, make your way through the oddly-shaped huts to the mayor's house, his is the big one with two, uh, 'towers' on it. The other major places in town you can't go just yet.

We, the villagers of Lyton, are the protectors of the Blue Dragon. During our festival, the Blue Dragon comes out; if we can't sing, there can be no festival Talk to the mayor and he'll explain that Lyton is a village based on song. But, because of the horrible background music no one in town can sing. Nall asks if he knows Alex, and the mayor gets excited, having heard that Alex is the one trying to become the next Dragonmaster. The source of the bad music is a cave near town; normally, wind passes through and generates melodic sounds, but now monsters have invated and it sounds cacophonic. The mayor asks if Alex can help them; Nash, though, says that they have no time and must hurry to see the Blue Dragon. Well, turns out that the villagers of Lyton are the protectors of the Blue Dragon; during their festival the Blue Dragon can come out. But, if they can't sing, there can be no festival. It's clear what you have to do now; so, the mayor gives you permission to pass through to the cave.

7.5) LYTON CAVE - Wind Tunnels

Dungeon Items:
[Section 2] Mental Gum
[Section 3] Mind Robe
[Section 4] 5000S

You need to enter? Please, help rid us of whatever is causing that foul sound... The entrance is in the northeast corner of town in a small outhouse-looking building. Enter, talk to the guard at the back, and he'll let you pass. Once you get inside the cave, there's a vendor selling the usual Heal Drops and Mental Gums if you need to stock up. Be careful inside the cave, too, as there are holes that'll open up in the floor dropping you to the level below (if you look closely you can see where the floor is weak). There's nothing in the first section, so just go north past the vendor and up the stairs. From this door go a little east then south; go around to the left then back north for a chest with a Mental Gum. Continue south; either enter that door there or fall into the hole right in front of it. From here go north and get the chest you'll see off to the left for a Mind Robe for Nash (watch out for the hole right before where you can go left). Now, either go north and enter the door or just trip the hole and fall down a level. Go south from here, pick up 5000S to the side, and continue along the path. Head all the way to the northwest corner of this area to go through another door.

Well, if we just take a few rocks from around there to put in here, that should work On this floor be careful of the holes. The best way to avoid them is to go straight down, go a little right, hug the wall on your way down and just continue going straight down without turning until you see the door. Exit out this door. On the other side, go right and hug the wall as you head north a little bit. Hug this wall as you go west then north through the next door. From here go a little bit west then all the way north to spot four tunnels through which wind is passing. Check the one with a big red arrow above it. Nall surmises that it must be the source of the bad music, but doesn't know what to do. Kyle suggests that you get some rocks to alter the path of the wind so it sounds right again. Alex and the rest stand back while he handles it and, amazingly, he fixes the tunnel (the background music doesn't sound much better though). Kyle will rejoin you and you're free to leave the cavern without so much as a boss battle.

7.6) LYTON - When It Hits, You Feel No Pain

During the festival, the song of two people in love can call forth the Blue Dragon and make visible his cave; the song of a couple Once you exit the cave, return to the mayor's house. He'll thank Alex and say that now they're able to celebrate their festival. He then says that you can go to the lake on the northern edge of town. When the Blue Dragon hears the song of two people in love, then the shrine will surface. Jessica and Mia quite like that idea; Nash, angry as usual, hurries them on.

I can see how such a song can have tremendous magical power Go through the gate on the north end of town to get to the lake. Once there, Nash immediately asks Mia to sing with him, so that they can summon the shrine. They begin, and since Nash is way too tense through the whole thing, nothing happens. Mia apologizes and Nash says it's all his fault. Jessica comes up next, telling Kyle to come up with her. He reluctantly agrees, and starts yelling out what he considers music. Nothing happens of course, and he and Jessica get into another argument before stepping down. Mia suggests that the only alternative left is Alex and Luna. Nall thinks over it a minute, then tells Alex to play his ocarina in the hopes that just maybe it's power would reach Luna--it's worth a try. Right then, you cut to a scene of Luna with the other kidnapped girls--including Lily--in some enclosed room. Luna, suddenly reminded of Alex, begins singing; the other girls join in. Xenobia warps in and demands they stop, but they continue and she just leaves frustrated. Royce and Phacia come in afterwards; Royce saying that it's a pretty song, but that's all it is: a song. She leaves, but Phacia is the only one who apparently sees the power inherent in such music. Back to the lake, after a few more seconds the Blue Dragon Shrine surfaces and you can enter.

7.7) BLUE DRAGON SHRINE - Waterworld

Dungeon Items:
[Section 2] Angel Tear
[Section 3] Armor Glove
[Section 5] Chiro Tail
[Section 6] Gentle Coat, Dragon Wrist, Freeze Knuckle
[Section 7] Rainbow Brace, Angel Ring

Yo! Wha? Where am I? Once you enter, a random guy leaps out of a pool of water and runs to the corner of the room; apparently, the pools of water you see around are transportation devices. If you talk with him, he's another merchant selling the usual healing items. Pick up whatever you need and dive into the pool to continue through the cave; I also suggest equipping Kyle with the Fire Orb through this dungeon. Beware of a few of the pools, for instead of teleporting you, they summon up more monsters to fight. Also, this place isn't entirely linear, so it's slightly more difficult to get through. If you got some of those weapons from the Ayakashi Forest it should be considerably easier, though.

Monsters come from the water! In this section go a little west then all the way north to find a chest with an Angel Tear. Go through the pool right below this chest. From here go directly north then northeast to get another chest with an Armor Glove. Head back a little and go through the pool you skipped over. Go west from here and between the three pools take the one in the middle. From here go all the way west; in the next open area you can find a chest with a Chiro Tail in it along the southern end. Now go through this pool. In the next section, go directly north from where you enter; pick up a Gentle Coat in this chest. Now head west from here and pick up a Dragon Wrist in the next chest you find. Don't continue west yet, though; first back up to the east, go north then west around the big lake in the center. Continue all the way west until you find a chest with a Freeze Knuckle in it. From this chest go a little northeast and go through the next pool. From the other side, go south to find two chests with a Rainbow Brace for Nash and an Angel Ring. Now you'll need to backtrack: exit out the same pool, go back to the southeast around the pool, go all the way west, and follow the path west and then north until you come to a door. Enter this.

This is the only way open to us Vile Tribe... You'll reach the Blue Dragon's lair and enter to find Phacia and the Blue Dragon speaking; apparently, Phacia is apologizing for what she has to do. The Blue Dragon understands but says that he doesn't need to die, only to be put to sleep. Phacia teleports out then as Alex and the rest enter to be greeted by the dragon. He sees Mia and asks if she is Lemia; she explains that she's her daughter. The dragon nods and says a few of the same things as the Red Dragon: that he was in hibernation for a long time until song with strong power awoke him--much like a song of Althena. But upon reflection, that shouldn't be the case--Althena shouldn't need him now. But, that's an unrelated matter, like mentioning Loka or Rina--two names that Nall recognizes as Dragonmasters of long ago. He sees Alex's shield and sees he's already met the White and Red dragons. He asks Alex's name and after his response, the dragon says he has passed the trial and gives him the Blue Dragon Helmet. The dragon explains that he can do no more than that, as he's about to go soon. It's one of the Vile Tribe sisters, Jessica realizes, but he's already realized that this is his fate. The Blue Dragon transports you outside with one last message: the next dragon he must meet is the Black one; the Black Dragon resides far to the east. Just before his voice fades the asks Alex to become the next Dragonmaster and protect the goddess. East of here, past another mountain pass, is a town called Tamur, Kyle says. That's where you must head next.

This is necessary to realize our dream. You wouldn't understand! Equip the Blue Dragon Helm on Alex and backtrack all the way to the entrance for the Blue Dragon Shrine. As you leave, though, Nash and Mia both feel a strong magic presence. Phacia teleports in, saying that what was done is necessary to realize their dreams, but they wouldn't understand anything. They haven't had to survive out in the Frontier, where Althena sealed them long ago. She doesn't explain anything further, such as what Luna has to do with anything, but says they will soon understand. She slips out again. Leave the cave.
